Do you enjoy tackling complex technical challenges and would you like to see your designs come to life for clients? At Flikweert Vision, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who can turn new machine concepts into reliable, manufacturable solutions, whilst looking beyond the design itself.

You play a key role in industrialising our designs by translating technically sound concepts into standardised, reproducible and efficiently manufacturable machines. Throughout the design process, you take manufacturability, assembly, material selection and practical production requirements into account.

You are responsible for technical projects, optimise existing designs and ensure that engineering knowledge, design choices and best practices are properly documented and shared. In addition, you guide and coach less experienced colleagues in their development.

Flikweert Vision develops advanced optical sorting machines for potatoes and onions. Our machines combine vision technology, software, AI, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering into innovative solutions for the agri-food sector. Our culture is practical and down-to-earth. Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced engineer with strong technical knowledge and a practical mindset. You understand the impact of design choices, independently lead projects or sub-projects, and dare to make decisions when things can be improved.

You take the initiative, work well together and turn good ideas into working solutions instead of leaving them on the drawing board.

What are you bringing?

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Several years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in mechanical engineering or equipment manufacturing.
• Extensive experience with 3D CAD, technical drawings, parts lists (BOMs), tolerances and design for manufacturability.
• Experience with concept development, product development, prototyping and optimising existing machinery.
• An independent, analytical and practical approach, with the ability to share knowledge and support colleagues.

• A market-rate gross salary of between €3,600 and €5,000 per month based on a full-time working week (38 hours), depending on your knowledge and experience.
