Erika Quist-Potappel
Erika has now been working for 35 years. She started her career right after her secretarial training, supplemented by MBO business economics and business administration. Over the years, she worked at various companies and attended countless courses and trainings. The other day, it was exactly 35 years ago that she started working. And she still enjoys doing it. Since October, Erika has been part of the team. Before this, she worked at a similar company and a message on LinkedIn piqued her interest. The position immediately appealed to her. During the first interview, it clicked right away. The enthusiasm of the team won her over.
Hands off
From day one, Erika threw herself into improving finance processes. Her first task was to see how finance could be further automated. She had done that before, so it felt familiar. Purchase invoices via Ridder, payments that used to be manual, that is now largely automated. Erika is also active in the field of sales invoices and structure. She likes it when there is an overview, and quickly sees where things can be done better or smarter.
Confidence and freedom
What Erika appreciates about her work is the trust she gets. There is room to work independently and to take responsibility. Because of her broad experience, extra things automatically come on her plate, and she likes that. She is structured, works accurately and enjoys helping colleagues. ‘Your colleagues are actually your biggest internal customers. Then you just want things to run smoothly,’ says Erika.
Everyone here is still full of enthusiasm, which is contagious.
A fine team
Erika experiences the atmosphere at Flikweert Vision as positive. There is little fuss or pressure and a good mutual click. She felt welcome in the team from the start. The onboarding was well organised and the facilities are great. She noticed that there is a real focus on job satisfaction. You don't see that everywhere.
Energy of renewal
Erika gets a lot of energy from improving and automating processes. Working smarter gives her a boost. She enjoys helping this young company grow. At 54, Erika brings a lot of experience to a team where the average age is around 28. That mix of young and experienced works well. “Everyone here is still full of enthusiasm, which is contagious,” she says.”
At home and away
Erika lives with her husband Bas and their two sons. Bas comes from an entrepreneurial family; his father had a potato business. Erika used to help sort potatoes herself. So that world is not unfamiliar to her, which makes the connection with what we do here all the more fun. In her free time, she likes to undertake activities with her family. Music plays a big role in her life: she plays trumpet and horn, and also likes to visit concerts. The basis here is good. We have a stable team and it shows. Erika enjoys going to work every day.
