Concept Team I Work Placement Flikweert Vision
About the job
About the job
Are you looking for an internship where you can make a significant contribution to the development and testing of our innovative machines for the agri-food sector? At Flikweert Vision, we are looking for a higher vocational education (HBO) or university (WO) intern to join our concept team and contribute to our R&D and technical development work.
Within the concept team, we work on various technical issues surrounding our machines and future developments. Think of issues in the field of camera and sensor technologies, as well as separation mechanisms and transport systems for potatoes and onions. During your internship, you will contribute to one or more of these issues and combine technical research with building, testing and analysing.
About Flikweert Vision
Flikweert Vision develops advanced optical sorting machines for potatoes and onions. Our machines combine camera technology, sensors, mechanics, software, and AI. We are continuously working on innovative solutions to make the sorting process smarter, faster, and more efficient. In doing so, we research, develop, and test new techniques that we can apply in our machines.
Your role
As an intern, you will work within the concept team on various technical issues and potential new developments for our machines. You will research different solution directions, carry out tests and experiments, and develop ideas into a technical concept.
In addition, you can work with a wide range of technologies, such as camera and sensor technologies, optics, separation mechanisms and transport systems for potatoes and onions. The aim is to investigate whether an idea works technically and has sufficient potential for further development. Is a concept successful? Then it is handed over to other departments, where it is further developed towards an applicable solution.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Investigating technical issues and potential new developments for our machines.
- Exploring and comparing different technical solution directions.
- Setting up and executing practical tests and experiments.
- Building and testing prototypes and test setups to put ideas into practice.
- Collecting and analysing test results and determining which solutions are technically feasible.
- Collaborating on issues relating to, among other things, camera and sensor technologies, separation mechanisms and transport systems.
- Recording findings and substantiating choices and next steps.
- Elaboration of promising ideas into a technical concept that can be handed over for further development.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a curious and practically minded student who enjoys working on technical issues where the solution is not yet predetermined. You like exploring different possibilities, testing ideas in practice and thinking further based on the results. You work independently, but also enjoy collaborating with technical colleagues.
- You are studying for a technical bachelor's or master's degree (HBO or WO), for example in Mechatronics, Applied Physics or a similar subject.
- You are looking for an internship.
- You have an interest in technical development and R&D.
- You enjoy combining research with practical building, testing and experimentation.
- You work accurately and can analyse test results and translate them into technical insights.
- You are curious, proactive and dare to try out different solutions.
- Knowledge of or interest in optics is an advantage.
What we offer
- A technical internship in which you contribute to new developments for our sorting machines.
- The space to explore, build and test different ideas.
- Lots of variety between technical research and practical work.
- Mentoring by experienced technical colleagues.
- The opportunity to become acquainted with various techniques.
- A working environment with short communication lines, where you are given a great deal of freedom to contribute ideas and take the initiative.
- A suitable placement allowance.
