We are looking for a Product Specialist Intern.
About the job
Would you like to work on a technical and practical issue within the agri-food sector during your internship? At Flikweert Vision, we are looking for a university of applied sciences intern to research the product-friendliness of our machines.
Our machines transport and sort potatoes and onions. The central question within this internship is: How can product friendliness be further improved? You are undertaking a practical assignment at HBO (higher professional education) level, combining research with testing, analysis, and brainstorming potential improvements.
About Flikweert Vision
Flikweert Vision is a specialist in optical sorting technology for potatoes and onions. We are growing internationally and building smart, innovative machines that contribute to a more efficient sorting process. Within our organization, we work with short lines, a lot of technical knowledge, and the freedom to think and take initiative.
Your role
As an intern, you will be part of the Product Specialists department. This department is concerned with the operation, application and performance of our machines. You will work on a specific research assignment concerning product friendliness: what happens to potatoes and onions during transport and sorting by our machines, and which factors influence potential product damage?
You map out the process, carry out observations and measurements, and translate your findings into practical insights. You will collaborate with Product Specialists and, where necessary, with colleagues from Engineering, Production, Service, and Software & AI.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Mapping how potatoes and onions are transported and sorted by our machines.
- Investigate where in the process possible product liability may arise.
- Carrying out practical observations, tests and measurements on machines or parts thereof.
- Collecting and analysing data, for example on product flows, transitions, fall times, speeds or contact points.
- Recording of findings in a clear analysis and report.
- Brainstorming about possible improvements to further optimise the product-friendliness of our machines.
- Discussing results and recommendations with the Product Specialists department and involved technical colleagues.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an eager to learn, practical, and analytical HBO intern who enjoys working with both technology and agricultural products. You are interested in researching how machines function in practice and how small technical details can impact the product. You are curious, accurate, and like to get your hands dirty.
What you bring
- You are pursuing a higher professional education (hbo) degree, preferably in the direction of Agrotechnology & Engineering.
- You are looking for an executive internship assignment at a higher professional education level.
- You are interested in machinery, agricultural products, and process improvement.
- You work precisely and enjoy translating observations, tests, and data into practical insights.
- You are independent, proactive, and dare to ask questions.
- You can communicate clearly and record your findings in an organised manner.
What we offer
- An educational internship where you work on a concrete and relevant technical problem.
- The opportunity to contribute to the further improvement of our machines and product quality.
- Support from the Product Specialists department.
- Collaboration with colleagues from, among others, Engineering, Production, Service, and Software & AI.
- A broad introduction to optical sorting technology for potatoes and onions.
- A pleasant working environment within a young and growing company with short lines of communication, engaged colleagues and room for initiative.
